TimeSurfer — Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 14, 2026

Contact: [email protected]

TimeSurfer is built to be private by design. Your questions and your birth details are yours. This policy explains, in plain language, exactly what the app does and does not do with your information. If anything here is unclear, write to us at the contact address above.

The short version

  • Your readings are computed entirely on your device. The astrology engine runs offline — no server sees your chart, your question, or your answer.
  • There is no account and no sign-in. We never ask you to register, and we have no user database.
  • Your birth details and question text never leave your device.
  • The only time TimeSurfer uses the network is a one-time birthplace lookup during onboarding, so we can place your birth city on the map. That search is handled by Apple's Maps service (MapKit); we do not store it, and it is subject to Apple's privacy terms.
  • We use no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind.

What we store, and where

Everything TimeSurfer remembers is kept locally on your device, in the app's own storage:

  • The name(s), birth date, birth time, and birthplace you enter, so the app can read for you (and, on Pro, for the people you add).
  • Small on-device counters that track your free daily and monthly usage, so the app knows what is included in your tier.

None of this is transmitted to us or to anyone else. If you delete the app, or use "Start over" inside it, this information is erased.

The one network call, explained

When you first tell TimeSurfer where you were born, the app asks Apple's Maps service to turn that place name into a location on the globe. This is the same kind of search you would type into Apple Maps. We send only the text you typed; we do not attach your name, your birth time, or any identifier. We do not keep a copy of the query or the result beyond placing your birthplace on your device.

After onboarding, TimeSurfer does not need the network again. Every reading you receive is calculated on your device from the birth details you already gave.

What we do NOT do

  • We do not collect personal data. (Our App Store privacy label and the app's bundled PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy manifest both declare Data Not Collected.)
  • We do not use analytics, advertising SDKs, cookies, fingerprinting, or cross-app/website tracking. We do not ask for the App Tracking Transparency permission because we do not track you.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your information — we do not have it.
  • We do not require you to create an account.

Children

TimeSurfer does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children. Because nothing you enter leaves your device, no personal data about a child (or anyone) is ever transmitted to us.

Your choices

  • You can review, correct, or delete any profile at any time from within the app.
  • "Start over" erases every profile and counter from your device.
  • Deleting the app removes all locally stored information.

A note on the future

TimeSurfer today collects and transmits nothing. We are considering an optional, opt-in diagnostics/telemetry feature to help us improve the app. If and when that ships, it will be off by default, clearly explained, and this policy — along with our App Store privacy label — will be updated before any such data is collected. Nothing changes silently.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above and, for meaningful changes, note it in the app or on this page. Continued use after an update means the current version applies.
